About Us

Established in 2001, the Business Council is a 501(c) 6 non-profit member-based organization representing over 45 local and regional municipal agencies, businesses, trade organizations, and major employers with more than 5000 employees in the County. 

2022 – 2023 Member Goals:
1)   Retention, expansion, job creation and growth of existing businesses

2)   EDC 2017-2022 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Implementation, Support development of 2023-2028 CEDS - New business attraction  

3)   Infrastructure: Measure G Implementation- road and highway improvements, transportation, broadband, education, housing, water & wastewater, tackling blight & litter

4)   Building relations with elected officials, staff, regional orgs and the community 

 

Members of the San Benito County Business Council meet monthly to discuss issues and opportunities with representatives of local and regional government agency staff and officials. Meetings are traditionally held on the first Thursday of the month from Noon to 1:30pm via Zoom webinar due to COVID-19 health and safety. We will resume in-person lunch meetings once it is safe to do so.
